Her Chic Geek
Twitter lovers, drink up!
Yay! Social media swag! If you or someone you love is into the micro-blogging site Twitter, hook them up with this fabulous Twitter friends mug from CrowdedInk.
Just enter your/their Twitter name, in my case that would be MargieNewman. The site will then generate a mockup with the mug shot of each of your/their Twitter friends. And it's all yours for just 14 bucks.
Sleep tight!
It’s more than grumpiness and dark circles that can overtake the sleep deprived. Chronic lack of sleep damages your heart, decreases your chance of losing weight and increases your risk of suffering from depression.
Needlepoint for geeks
Jonathan Adler’s needle point iPod and cell phone cozies are on sale at Delight.com! Go get you one (or two). Right now!
Here’s some product info:
For the festive girly geek
Bling in the holiday season with your very own Santa and/or snowman bejweled USB drives. You know you need one.
Hat Tip: PopGadget
Gadget Gawking: USB scent diffuser candle thingy
In keeping with my apparent obsession over anything powered by a USB cord, I present to you the USB scent diffuser candle thingy.
I don't advocate the use of such a thing at work, but plugging in these cute anti-candles at home would be delightful.
Here's the product description - odd grammar/spelling and all:
Gadget gawking: Mix Tape USB flash drive
I must have this. There is seriously nothing better than a good old fashioned mix tape. Sadly, no one makes them anymore. Thankfully someone has put them to good use in the form of a USB flash drive.
I must have one. You'll want one, too, after you read the product description:
Wrap Rage no more!
Just when I thought I couldn't love Amazon.com any more they go and launch a campaign against what they've termed "Wrap Rage" with their new Frustration-Free (and hand-scrape-free!) packaging.
The Other Woman, part II
I'm a big fan of Brian Solis' blog, PR 2.0. Solis was talking about social media before there was such a thing and often shares his thoughts about the importance of tending to your online self a.k.a "your personal brand."
You know you love 'em: Travel Toiletries
There's just something fabulous and necessary about tiny travel toiletries. I can't explain it. But I don't really have to because you love them, too.
From Bella Sugar:
iPhone App of the Month: CameraBag ($2.99)
If you have an iPhone and haven't downloaded CameraBag you are seriously missing out (but I am still very proud of you for owning the phone).
I can take a random photo of a painting in my office and end up with an artsy shot like the one above. See, artsy.
Gadget Gawking: Chewbacca USB Flash Drive
I'm not at all ashamed of my desire for a designer USB Flash Drive. Mimobot makes several that I'm partial to, but this Chewbacca one steals my little geek-ish heart.
Hey, smell this.
Not quite sure what to think about these "scent infused" laptops from Taiwan's ASUSTek. The "floral blossom" is sort of acceptable, but musk? Really?
Geek Test
Wanna rate your inner geek? I come in at a cool 22.28797%, which makes me a geek but not quite a “total geek.” Here's the full geek scale:
Evite takes a Punch(bowl)
I just heard about MyPunchBowl.com, an online party invitation site that hopes to "help you organize and plan an exceptional event" in five steps -- from getting inspired, to polling for the event date, and even sharing photos after the party.
I haven't used the invite service yet, but I have signed up for my free account. It seems well designed and user-friendly. I really like the travel center and the way you can "add your own reason" to the celebration calendar.
Could you Kindle?
Do you Kindle? I'm still bookin' it old school and have not purchased one just yet.
Bag it
My husband will be the first to tell you, the last thing on earth that I need is another bag. So, here's a bag that I WANT, the Jane Marvel laptop messenger.
Hockey time, baby
Okay, this post has nothing to do with technology. I just want to say how FLIPPIN ECSTATIC I am to have in my little hands our own half season of Nashville Predators tickets. No more begging tickets off folks, no more scalping at the last minute. We have our own! Like grown ups!
Chic Geek Link: How to Clean Stuff
Saw a reference to HowtoCleanStuff.net on Twitter yesterday and just HAD to see what it was about. And now I'm brilliant.
Social networks: To friend or not to friend?
I've heard a few gals speak lately of the "randoms" they have accepted as friends on social networking sites like Facebook, Linked In, etc. When I'd press them on why they would add a stranger to their list of connections, two of them basically said this: "Well, I didn't want to hurt his/her feelings, but now I kinda feel like a stranger is watching me."
I've got your chic right here
Well, it's not a Mac, but HP's new "digital clutch" is pretty freaking cool. I first saw these photos on PopGadget.net and according HP's website:
